AI Dinner in Bremen: An evening full of inspiration and real-world applications

Last week, we hosted our new “AI Dinner” event in Bremen—an evening that brought together practical insights, intensive discussions, and real-world examples from a wide range of industries. In a pleasant atmosphere and accompanied by a four-course meal, four speakers provided concrete insights into their AI projects, which are already having an impact on everyday life.

Among other things, OHB showed how satellites – with the help of AI – independently process data, avoid space debris, and even detect ships that have switched off their transponders. And an ophthalmologist demonstrated how AI can detect eye diseases at an early stage on scans and make laser surgery more precise. The keynote speeches also highlighted the industry's responsibility: information technology already accounts for 4 percent of global CO₂ emissions.

The evening made it clear how deeply AI has already become embedded in reality. It is changing industries, processes, and decisions—not sometime in the future, but right now. And it only unfolds its value if we design it responsibly, transparently, and with people at its center.

A big thank you to all participants for the open exchange and the very enjoyable evening. Our conclusion: this format has a future.
