Optimization of warehouse management in aircraft construction

We optimized the warehouse management of a leading manufacturer of aircraft components by modernizing processes, software, and hardware, replacing the previous legacy systems with a customized SAP solution.

Shortcuts to the project

Our customer, a leading manufacturer of aircraft components, was looking for a solution to modernize its IT systems and warehouse technology and increase the efficiency of its production planning and logistics. The existing infrastructure was technologically outdated, and urgent action was needed to ensure competitiveness and future viability. As part of the “Retrofit” project, we modernized warehouse management with the aim of replacing existing legacy systems by implementing an SAP solution, harmonizing processes, and updating the hardware used. By optimizing processes, software, and hardware, we created a future-proof foundation that meets the requirements of a highly complex manufacturing environment. Thanks to our many years of experience in the aerospace industry and a convincing concept, we were able to win the customer's trust as early as 2022.

Our approach

  1. Blueprint creation:

    Analysis of the existing IT and process landscape. Development of a detailed concept for SAP integration and process optimization. Creation of a roadmap for harmonizing processes in production planning, warehouse management, and logistics.

  2. Programming & implementation:

    Development and adaptation of SAP functions to meet the specific requirements of the customer. Programming of interfaces to PLC control and other production systems. Adaptation of drive technology and control components of the BBT warehouse..

  3. Integration & Go-Live:

    Test phase to ensure smooth cooperation between software, hardware, and processes. Step-by-step migration of legacy systems to the new SAP platform. Go-live with on-site support to ensure uninterrupted operation.

  4. Ongoing support:

    Provision of support and maintenance services after implementation. Optimization of processes based on initial practical experience. Training of employees to facilitate the use of the new systems.
