Shortcuts to the project
For our long-standing customer TUI, we conducted an innovative workshop in the AI Design Sprint® format, developed by 33a. The goal was to develop concrete AI-supported innovation approaches for a TUI department and to make the topic of AI tangible for employees. The structured workshop process focused on identifying, evaluating, and prototyping relevant AI use cases for optimizing existing and future business processes. The focus was on promoting interdisciplinary exchange between IT and business and introducing new approaches to digital transformation. Thanks to our many years of experience in innovation workshops and in-depth AI expertise, we were able to deliver practical, actionable results covering both technical and business aspects.
Managing diversity, pooling ideas, enabling innovation
Our workshop presented us with some exciting challenges. In an international group with participants from IT and business analysis, different perspectives, expectations, and technical languages came together. To find common ground and facilitate exchange, we deliberately conducted the entire workshop in English. At the same time, we had to bring together around 30 experts from different disciplines and translate their expertise into concrete AI concepts for different areas of the department. To ensure that creative ideas quickly became visible and tangible solutions could emerge, we relied on innovative methods such as the use of AI cards, which provided both structure and inspiration.
Two formats, one goal: innovation with AI
During the workshop, we drew on two proven AI Design Sprint® formats – Concept Development and Opportunity Mapping – and flexibly adapted them to the specific requirements of the customer.
While Concept Development worked on two selected and predefined processes, another group used AI Cards in Opportunity Mapping to develop innovative approaches for three key topics. The targeted use of AI Cards quickly generated initial creative ideas on how these areas could be optimized in the future with the help of AI technologies.
